Michael brings a blend of high-level legislative leadership and deep private-sector corporate strategy to The Ingram Group. A veteran policymaker and business leader, Michael’s career is defined by a rare ability to bridge the gap between complex regulatory environments and practical, real-world solutions.

Before joining the firm, Michael served in the Tennessee General Assembly, where he earned a reputation as a pragmatic, results-driven leader.  As Chairman of both the House Judiciary Committee and the Criminal Justice Committee, he steered some of the state's most significant policy debates. His legislative legacy is anchored by landmark, bipartisan achievements aimed at making Tennessee communities safer, including the Reentry Success Act, critical reforms to Drug-Free School Zones, and pioneering work in substance use disorder policy—most notably through the creation of the SAFE Act.

Chairing these committees provided Michael with a profound understanding of Tennessee’s unique landscape. His approach to public service—and now to corporate strategy—is rooted in the firm belief that Tennessee is best served when a diverse group of voices is brought to the table to solve tough problems.

Outside of politics, Michael has spent over 16 years as a trusted adviser in the financial services and employee benefits sectors. Managing complex corporate portfolios across multiple states and navigating dense regulatory frameworks, he developed a sharp analytical eye for data-driven risk management, commercial strategy, and long-term planning.
