Dean Rice joined The Ingram Group after eight years as chief of staff to former Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett. During this time, Dean earned a reputation as a problem solver and someone who could work closely with the Mayor and staff to successfully implement the Mayor’s priorities. Throughout his career he has focused on issues related to energy, science and technology and has worked closely with the DOE, EPA, Y-12 and ORNL.

In addition to his primary professional roles, Dean has traveled to over 20 countries, authored, and co-authored published articles related to global security, domestic politics and political discourse. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the University of Tennessee’s College of Communication and Information Science and is a Global Security Fellow with the University’s Institute for Nuclear Security. His focus is on global security, democratic development and sustainability in transitional societies, including post-Soviet countries and the Middle East.

Dean lives in Knoxville with his wife, Dr. Natalie M. Rice and his twin daughters, Sarah and Rachel.
